Charles B. Neff

Peace Corpse, a new novel of intrigue, now joins Hidden Impact and Patriot Schemes, my first two novels (both available on Amazon.com). Before turning ot fiction I had written about three dozen professional articles and newspaper pieces, co-authored a book on searches for college and university presidents, written another book (with additional contributors) on cross-cultural learning, and self-published three small poetry collections(some of my poems are available at www.authorsden.com). My career includes stints as teacher and/or administrator at universities in Hawaii, Alaska, Wisconsin and New York; and as director of education programs for the Peace Corps in Colombia. Along the way, I accumulated professional experience in fifteen countries, including my last position before retirement with a center for small business training in the Russian Far East.

Born in Mexico, I grew up there and in Southern California, studied on the east and west coasts, did military service in Texas, and spent a year of study in Germany (while mostly playing jazz and basketball with German groups). I speak Spanish, German, Russian and some Swedish.

My wife Karen is a linguist, and we live near Seattle. One son, Andy, is a mathematician who works on internet security issues; another son, Ken, teaches high school physics and is a part-time farmer; and a third, Sam, works for a company teaching English worldwide via the net (take a look at his new interactive site, www.englishcafe.com). Our daughter, Robin Lorenzini, is establishing herself as a professional photographer (she is the designer of this site and took most of the photos). Together, our children have given us ten grandchildren.

When not writing, I continue two lifelong musical interests: choral singing and jazz trumpet playing.
